AFSOD - Armed Forces Special Operational Division 

AFSOD

The Armed Forces Special Operations Division (AFSOD) is a tri-service command of the Indian Armed Forces. The division is tasked to carry out special operations. The AFSOD draws personnel from all three special warfare branches of the Armed Forces.

Its headquarters are located in Agra and Bengaluru.

The current commander of AFSOD:–Maj Gen A K Dhingra.

History

The creation of the AFSOD was approved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Combined Commanders' Conference at Jodhpur Air Force Station on 28 September 2018.

A task force was set up in 2011 by NSA Shivshankar Menon to review and implement the certain changes

And suggest new reform related national security the force then suggest new reform related to National security the force then recommended in aerospace command and a special operation command all three units of military were proposed to be a tri service command.

The armed forces special operations division is a downsized implementation of this proposal.

All three force including the para SF garud and Marcos are are a part of this tri service command the post of CDS was initiated Tri-services.

They undergo several combat training to maintain coordination and efficiency.

AFSOD note only conduct operations in India but one event capable of conducting such operations in other countries.

AFSOD with its formation completed tu training exercises:– 

    Selling field in Kutch Gujarat b.DANX-2019 In Andaman and Nicobar.

The force has also been deployed in in Jammu and Kashmir to tight counter insurgency and terrorism in 2019 and have been successful since then.
